Open Positions: Operations Coordinator

Role Description:

We are seeking a motivated and versatile Startup Generalist / Operations Coordinator based in Dubai to join our growing team. As one of our early hires, you will work closely with the founder to drive the development and success of Ghamir Ventures and its portfolio startups. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with experience in the Dubai tech startup ecosystem and a passion for supporting entrepreneurs from underserved markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up the recruitment process and assist in evaluating and selecting high-potential startups from marginalized ecosystems, starting with Palestine-based ventures, for the Ghamir Ventures cohort.
  • Support and build out the operational tasks of Ghamir Ventures, including administrative duties, event planning, and partnership management.
  • Support and work with the Ghamir team, especially the founder and management team to grow Ghamir’s presence in the region.
  • Scale and solidify the curriculum for the programme based on the start-ups and market needs.
  • Assist in building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and advisors.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a new coworking space in Sharjah, UAE, including partnership formation and investor outreach.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and growth strategies for Ghamir Ventures, its website and online presence and its portfolio startups.
  • Help establish and scale Ghamir Advisors, a group of experienced entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors who will support and mentor the startups.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of overall professional experience, with at least 2 years in a tech startup, venture capital firm, or business development role and exposure to the UAE/GCC market is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas: marketing, operations, or business development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and project management abilities, coupled with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
  • Passion for entrepreneurship and a genuine interest in supporting startups from underserved markets.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is a strong plus.
  • Marginalised candidates are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with startups or entrepreneurs from marginalized ecosystems. 
  • Experience working in the Middle East or strong knowledge of the nuances in the region.
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling startups or supporting their growth.
  • Established relationships with investors, mentors, or partners in the UAE and GCC markets.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
